Class 2A

NAMASTE to all Parents of 2A 

I am now having a sense that kids are getting comfortable doing Yoga and they are enjoying it as well.
This time we started with a quick warmup, and did TRIANGLE POSE - INDIVIDUALLY and as a PARTNER POSE --  you can ask your kids about it and they should be able to demonstrate it for you.

We also did the WARRIOR POSE aka;  NINJA POSE as most of the boys in the class call it : Pose 1 and Pose 2 
And did find a couple of minutes to end with AUMKAR ...

Note: I  will not be available to take the class on 11/20/2011 so Meena and Rekha will be substituting for me

Rigorous warm-ups

Vrikshasana - Tree Pose

Padmasana – Lotus Pose (several kids also did Lolasana)

Baddha Konasana- Butterfly Pose

Paschimottanasana – Forward Bend

Vajarasana – Thunder Bolt Pose

Balaasana – Child’s Pose

Ustrasana – Camel Pose

Savasana – Corpse Pose

We tried a two minute Laughing yoga session.  Laughing brings more blood and oxygen to your body and brain thereby energizing you.  It relaxes your face muscles and relieves physical, emotional stress.

Due to the Diya project last week there was no yoga class for your child's class

Class of Septemebr 25th, 2011

Namaste Parents,
We started the class with reminders of the Class rules and we had a few more new faces .
We revised the poses that we learnt last week as well as continued the class with Warmups- Jumping Jacks , Stretching and followed by 
1.TADASANA - upward stretching - it is the second time we did this so kids are now able to do it by themselves at home too, so please encourage them to do it by themselves.
2.VRIKSHASANA: Tree Pose the kids learnt to do it on the mat and against the wall and the restrictions with it.
3.Reverse Namaste Pose: they learnt to do say namaste BACKWARDS , fun pose kids love to do it.
Ended the class with a couple of deep breaths..

We started of the class with introductions of the teachers and the general expectations from Yoga class.

In the short time being the first day of Balvihar we managed to learn the following poses:


- Tadasan  


- Padmasana ( Lotus Pose)


and ended with UJJAYI / OMKAR ( part of Pranayama )
