Namaste Parents,

In the beginning of the class we reviewed the asanas that we learnt last classes and it was amazing to see most of the kids remembered the poses.

Warm-ups:  We practiced gentle stretching and strengthening exercises to warm up our legs, arms and spine.

Asanas: After warm-up practice, we practiced the asanas listed below. Kids learn best when they are having fun, so we interweave stories and poses in the class.  Kids absolutely LOVED this.

Children were taught how to get in and out of each asana carefully and the benefits of the poses.

Tadasana - Mountain Pose

Vrikshasana - Tree Pose

Garudasana - Eagle Pose

Natarajasana - Dancer’s Pose

Utkatasana - Chair Pose

Baddha Konasana - Butterfly Pose

Padmasana – Lotus Pose – It is an advanced pose and some kids were not comfortable to do this pose, so we asked those kids to do Sukhasana, cross-legged, seated position. Also, we practiced “Pranayama” in this pose.

Savasana- Corpse Pose

Parents, encourage your kids to practice at their best and praise their efforts often. Thank you for your support.

Namaste Parents,

We started the class with “Sound of Omkaar” and explained the technique of OM/AUM Chanting. Students then practiced the following exercises and yoga asanas.

·         Warm ups – Jogging, walking forward and backward on tiptoes and heels. Kids really loved this exercise.

·         Tadasana - Mountain Pose

·         Vrikshasan – Tree Pose

·         Shavasana – Corpse Pose

At the end of the class, the students were given a copy of homework to complete at home.

We have been working on these asanas for the last couple of classes and kids should be familiar by now. Parents please encourage your little ones to practice these asanas at home and don’t forget to remind them to complete their homework.
