Warm ups – For warm ups we did a simple exercise which involves  crossing your arms in front of you and holding your ears and do a series of squatting and standing.  This is done typically in front of Lord Ganesha in India.   In Southern India, it is called “Thoppukaranam” (in Tamil) or “Gunjeellu” (in Telugu) and in Northern India, it is called “Kaan Paati” (in Hindi) and Utah Beshi (in Marathi).  This exercise warms up your body and is supposed to increase one’s focus and concentration.

In addition to these we did ankle rotations, knee lifts, hip swings and lunges.
